Thank you for visiting my web pages. My name is John Anderson and I am a Rail Enthusiast. I have been an Enthusiast since about 1982 and photograph both UK and European railways.
When I’m not out photographing railways, I work in logistics and warehousing for a large multinational company based in Central Scotland. I am married with five grown-up children and thirteen grandchildren!
I don’t claim to be an expert on railways, it is simply a hobby and this site is a means of promoting that. I enjoy what I do, and don’t worry too much if I don’t get the perfect shot as my days of chasing up and down platforms to get a photo are long gone!! I really enjoy the company of other enthusiasts and have had some great days at places as varied as Edinburgh Waverley; Stratford and Carlisle. You guys know who you are!!
Before the logistics/warehousing career took over, it was my ambition to be a signalman, and I have had some practical experience in this field, having had regular sessions in the now defunct Manor Powis and Cambus Junction boxes in the early to mid 1980’s.
I hope you enjoy looking at my site and I would look forward to hearing from you on the subject of railways, or simply with some feedback about the site. I would be grateful for any constructive criticism.
All the photographs and videos on this site and on my linked photography and you tube sites are my own unless otherwise credited.
It should be clearly understood that this website is for INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY and I will not accept responsibility for anyone acting illegally on information gathered from this site. Please read the website terms & conditions for more information.
I fully support the Network Rail Guidelines for Rail Enthusiasts and a copy is available for viewing on this site. I will NEVER condone trespass of any kind and my policy out in the field is to report railway trespassers without fail. Keeping out offenders and trespassers protects the rest of us.
I look forward to meeting you on the various platforms and line sides that I visit on my travels. If you recognise me, please feel free to come up and say hello.
All the best!!
John Anderson 🙂
